A2 Milk Shares Plunge Following US Infant Formula Recall

Company shares plummeted nearly 19% following the announcement, marking the steepest single-day decline for the dairy producer since 2024.

The voluntary recall involves over 63,000 tins manufactured by Synlait Milk for the United States market specifically.

Synlait officials maintain that the production process met all relevant safety standards during the initial manufacturing phase.

Industry analysts warn that the news could damage the company’s brand reputation across critical Asian markets like China.

This incident follows similar safety recalls from global competitors like Nestle and Danone throughout the current calendar year.

A2 Milk already removed the affected product from shelves and online platforms like Amazon before the formal public announcement.

The company confirms that no consumers have reported foodborne illnesses related to these specific formula batches so far.

Management currently coordinates with the Food and Drug Administration to manage the supply chain impact and safety protocols.
