Rock star Yungblud announced that he has suspended all his tour plans until the end of the year on the advice of his doctor. The 28-year-old artist had to cancel his US tour which was supposed to start this month. The artist plans to return to the UK next spring as part of the Idols World Tour.
In a statement made on social media, Yungblud said, “I have to stop this time” due to concerns about his voice and the findings in blood tests, emphasizing that he needs to take his health seriously.
A Sorry Message to Fans
The artist said, “My heart is broken” and apologized to his fans for the cancellation of concerts in cities such as Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Washington.
“I don’t want to inflict permanent damage on myself. I want this journey to last a lifetime. I know some of you are disappointed, but I will make it up to you.”
Yungblud (real name Dominic Harrison) said he didn’t underestimate anyone’s support and needed to rest for a while.
A Year Full of Successes
The artist was continuing his tour with his album Idols, released in June. The album recently received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album. Its single Zombie was also nominated in the Best Rock Song category.
It also received a nomination for its performance of Changes at the Black Sabbath – Back To The Beginning farewell concert held weeks before Ozzy Osbourne’s death.
Yungblud; Besides hit songs like I Think I’m Okay (with Machine Gun Kelly) and Fleabag, he is also known as the founder of BludFest, which offers an affordable festival alternative.
He reached number one on the UK charts three times with Weird! in 2020, the self-titled Yungblud in 2022, and finally Idols.
This year he also participated in Nordoff & Robbins was awarded Disruptor of the Year at the Northern Music Awards.
When the artist will return to the stage will depend on the progress of his health.
