Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (ISG) broke all-time records in passenger traffic and flight numbers due to the increased activity during the Ramadan holiday.
… On the same day, a record high number of flights was also set with a total of 777 flights, including 344 domestic and 433 international flights.
The previous passenger record was 134,289, while the highest number of flights was 740.
According to the European Airports Council (ACI EUROPE) January Air Traffic Report, İSG stood out as the fastest growing airport among MAJOR Airports (with a passenger capacity of over 40 million) in Europe.
İSG achieved a 16.2% increase in passengers in January, surpassing London Gatwick and Rome. Fiumicino has risen to 8th place, surpassing Madrid and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airports. Furthermore, compared to the same period last year, it ranked 1st as the fastest growing airport.
