Reliance Industries said it is maximizing liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production while redirecting domestic natural gas to priority sectors.
The move follows emergency steps by India to protect critical energy supplies after disruptions to liquefied natural gas shipments.
Tensions in the Middle East have interrupted cargo flows through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy trade.
The disruption has raised concerns about fuel shortages in countries heavily dependent on regional imports.
India relies on the Middle East for most of its LPG and LNG imports, making supply continuity a national priority.
Last week, the government urged refiners to increase LPG production to prevent shortages of household cooking gas.
Reliance, operator of the world’s largest refining complex, said it is adjusting output to support domestic demand.
Authorities are also limiting natural gas use to essential sectors, aiming to stabilize supply while geopolitical risks persist.
