Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, speaking at an event in Beijing, stated that with the easing of US export restrictions, they will increase the supply of H20 AI chips compatible with China in the coming months and aim to introduce more advanced semiconductors to the Chinese market.
This step, taken after the lifting of the export ban imposed by the US in April on national security grounds, is considered part of ongoing discussions on rare earth elements. Huang said, “The H20 ban has been lifted, the memory bandwidth is very high; great for LLMs and next-generation models.”
Nvidia also announced the development of a new chip called RTX Pro GPU, specifically designed for use in smart factories and robotics training in the Chinese market. Huang, highlighting China’s leadership in robotics and intelligent manufacturing, stated that this chip is ideal for the region.
While it was stated that major Chinese firms such as ByteDance and Tencent are in the application process for H20, Nvidia announced that it has already received many orders and expects the licenses to be approved quickly.
In a period when the technological superiority race between the US and China continues, Huang’s statement, “We want to sell every advanced chip we can sell to China,” attracted attention.
