Delivery Hero CEO Exit Signals Strategic Shift

Delivery Hero announced CEO Niklas Oestberg will leave after a leadership transition process.

The company plans to complete the succession by March 31, 2027, according to Tuesday’s statement.

Delivery Hero launched a strategic review last year after mounting pressure from major shareholders.

Investors pushed executives to reassess capital allocation and explore broader business restructuring options.

Activist investor Aspex Management welcomed the leadership change and backed the ongoing corporate review.

Aspex recently increased its stake in Delivery Hero to nearly 15%, strengthening its influence over company decisions.

The investor also urged Delivery Hero to exit selected regions and pursue a new leadership direction.

Delivery Hero’s supervisory board will begin a global search for a successor in the coming months.

Oestberg will continue leading the company, including ongoing M&A discussions, until the board appoints his replacement.
