XPeng Targets Overseas Growth with Mexico EV Launch

Chinese electric vehicle maker XPeng plans to double overseas sales this year, aiming to lift international revenue contribution to 20%.

The company will launch its G6 and G9 models in Mexico on March 25, marking a key step in its global expansion strategy.

The move reflects broader efforts by Chinese EV makers to seek growth abroad amid intense domestic competition and slowing demand at home.

XPeng recently reported its first-ever quarterly profit, surpassing expectations and reaching a key milestone among China’s emerging automakers.

It now joins rivals such as Nio, Li Auto, and Leapmotor in achieving profitability within the competitive “new forces” EV segment.

Founder and CEO He Xiaopeng said the Mexico launch will strengthen the brand’s footprint and deepen its presence across Latin America.

XPeng has increasingly prioritized overseas markets, expanding into Europe and other regions as part of its long-term growth strategy.

The company targets overseas operations to generate up to 70% of total profit by 2030, underscoring its global ambitions.
