India has approved $3.63 billion to develop 100 industrial parks, aiming to accelerate domestic manufacturing and strengthen its industrial base, officials announced Wednesday.
The cabinet cleared spending of 336.6 billion rupees, according to Information Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, signaling a major push toward industrial expansion.
The parks will be developed through joint ventures involving state governments and a state-run company, ensuring coordinated execution across regions.
Industry Secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia said approximately 33,000 acres will be developed over six years to support manufacturing growth.
Planned parks will range from 100 to 1,000 acres, accommodating diverse industries and enabling scalable infrastructure deployment.
The government will provide financial support of up to 10 million rupees per acre for core and social infrastructure development.
In a separate decision, the cabinet approved 117 billion rupees for cotton minimum support prices for the 2023–24 crop season.
The combined measures reflect India’s broader strategy to strengthen industrial output while supporting key agricultural sectors.
