February’s top performer: Gold bullion.

In February, the highest real return among investment instruments was achieved in gold bullion, at 7.76 percent. Gold bullion, which was also the most profitable investment instrument on an annual basis, provided significant gains for investors.

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the highest real return among investment instruments in February was seen in gold bullion. Based on the domestic producer price index (Yİ-ÜFE), gold bullion provided a real gain of 7.92 percent, and based on the consumer price index (TÜFE), it provided a real gain of 7.76 percent, making it the option that offered the highest return to investors.

In the three-month period, government domestic debt securities (DİBS) provided the highest return to investors, while the euro stood out as the investment instrument that caused the most losses.

Over the six-month period, gold bullion provided the highest real return, while the BIST 100 index was the investment instrument that caused the most losses for investors.

Gold bullion maintained its leadership in the annual evaluation as well. It offered the highest return to investors, providing a real gain of 32.34% according to the Producer Price Index (PPI) and 19.17% according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI). In contrast, the BIST 100 index, the dollar, and the euro caused losses for investors on an annual basis.
