Microsoft Reaches a Valuation of $4 Trillion

Microsoft is poised to surpass a market capitalization of $4 trillion following strong financial results. The company’s shares rose 8.5% to $557.03 in pre-market trading on Thursday, bringing its valuation to $4.14 trillion.

With Azure cloud services booming, Microsoft projected a record $30 billion in capital expenditures for the first quarter of the fiscal year. The company’s OpenAI collaboration accelerated growth by adding AI power to its products such as Office and Azure.

Microsoft reached a $1 trillion valuation in 2019, followed by a more cautious rise to $3 trillion. The only company to have crossed this threshold before was Nvidia.

Apple is currently at the level of $3.12 trillion.

Both these strong balance sheet results and the progress the US has made with its trading partners have been effective in the record-breaking performance of the S&P 500 and Nasdaq. Microsoft’s shares have risen almost 50% since their low point in April 2025.

The company, which accelerated its investments in artificial intelligence, both optimized its costs and increased its competitive advantage.

Microsoft’s announcement of record revenues for the second consecutive year further boosted investor confidence.

While the Trump administration’s tariffs are shaking global markets, Microsoft’s results show that the company has not yet been affected by these pressures.
